Banners, by contrast, are lighter and made to swap out as the liturgical season and color change.

The all-season and scripture banners stay up year-round because they carry inspirational messages rather than imagery tied to one liturgical season. Stained glass is a visual style rather than a season, so those designs vary: the cross and inspirational pieces work year-round, while others like Nativity and Risen Christ belong to Christmas and Easter. Any of the year-round designs suits Ordinary Time, the long stretches between major feasts.

When storing your banner, roll it up instead of folding it to prevent creases. Then store it in a closet away from high humidity, extreme temperature shifts, and potential mildew or moisture damage.

To hang a pole-hem banner, slide a dowel or rod into the pole-hem sleeve, then hang the assembly from a wall hook, ceiling mount, or T-bar banner stand. It depends on your wall and ceiling height, but the three standard sizes offered here cover most sanctuaries. A 2-by-6 foot pole-hem banner is the typical size for a sanctuary wall, and a 3-by-9 foot banner is great for large sanctuaries with high ceilings. A 23-by-63 inch X-stand banner works when you need a portable, floor-standing display. Before ordering, mock up the measurements on the wall with paper.
