For example, the Judicial Collection (J-25F) features elegant front pleats and a unique back yoke that comes to a point, providing a more tailored, professional appearance than a standard unisex cut.
The Arbiter Collection is designed for comfort and mobility with balanced fluting and sleeves that are lined and tapered to the wrist to stay out of the way while writing or handling documents. The Judicial Collection is a more traditional, formal gown featuring lined bell sleeves with deep cuffs and black braid trim on the neckline and hem. The Delphi Collection is a lightweight, unlined option in Starlite polyester, ideal for warmer climates or as a budget-friendly entry-level robe.
Most styles are crafted from Wonder Crepe polyester, valued for its soft drape and excellent wrinkle resistance. Custom orders offer additional choices like Viva or Tissue Faille. To preserve the fluting and internal construction, all judicial robes are dry-clean only. Murphy also makes women's pulpit robes in similar fabrics and sizes.
Murphy women’s judicial robes are typically sized by back length and are designed to allow for proper floor clearance when standing. The Arbiter Collection is tailored for a 12-inch floor clearance (mid-calf) for maximum mobility. The Judicial Collection is tailored for a 7-inch floor clearance (ankle-length) to achieve a more traditional, formal look. We offer both Regular and Full-Cut (Wonder-Fit) sizes. Murphy judicial robes for women are made to order. Judges and court officials placing an order should allow 6 to 8 weeks for delivery. Custom robes, which include personalized fabric and tailoring choices, are non-refundable and cannot be cancelled once the order has been submitted.
